Instant Interview: Annie Emmerson Posted on: Friday 22nd June 2007 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Welcome to our regular Friday lunchtime feature: the Instant Interview. A little something lighthearted to make the work week end just that little bit quicker. Triathlon isn’t just about the triathletes. There’s a whole army of people in the background from volunteers, organisers, officials, shop owners, facility managers and the whole sports infrastructure as well. We thought it would be fun to mix them in with famous, and some not so famous, athletes and get them to answer our 21 Question Instant Interview. This week's victim is the ever-lovely Annie Emmerson, a distinguished athlete in her own right, who was recently appointed to the Board of the BTF as their International Athlete Representative. Her past achievements include winning the UK Half Ironman at Llanberis, three UK middle distance championship wins at Ironbridge, numerous medals at both European and World Championships in both triathlon and duathlon and being the ITU's highest ranked duathlete in 2005 when she "retired" from the sport. Retirement being a relative state of mind, Annie now works with a number of triathletes including Michelle Parsons (who will be racing this weekend at Ironman France) and a group of up-and-coming Formula 3 racing drivers who she coaches for fitness. You'll also find her words gracing the pages of Tri247 from time to time as she is a regular contributor to the site in the womens section.
