Benny may not be with us but his younger brother Joerie is - and boy, did he put in a dominating performance in Virginia today!

He put 50 seconds into the field by T1 and then ripped the bike apart with a time that was 5:30 faster than anyone else and retained his advantage right through the second run. In the women's field, Catriona Morrison was doing roughly the same thing by establishing a 50 second buffer in the first run and then opening the lead to to Michelle Lee, her nearest chaser, by a further 3:30 on the bike. This lead opened further on the second run to a massive 4:50.

Other GB elites in the race were Michelle Parsons who finished an uncharacteristic 10th place having been sent the wrong way on the bike course which saw her lose valuable time, Oliver Mott, also 10th, Matt Moorhouse in 17th, Dave Brown in 20th, Wayne Smith in 23rd and Matthew Wilson (IRL) was 34th. Tom Lowe was unable to start.
