Instant interview: Michelle Lee Posted on: Friday 30th November 2007 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Welcome to our regular Friday lunchtime feature: the Instant Interview. A little something lighthearted to make the work week end just that little bit quicker. Triathlon isn’t just about the triathletes. There’s a whole army of people in the background from volunteers, organisers, officials, shop owners, facility managers and the whole sports infrastructure as well. We thought it would be fun to mix them in with famous, and some not so famous, athletes and get them to answer our 21 Question Instant Interview. This weeks instant interviewee was previously known as a runner, but following a fantastic run at the London Marathon in 2004 where she achieved a time of 2:35:51, inside the Olympic qualifying time of 2:37, she decided it was time for new challenges. She took up triathlon and very quickly achieved great results in age group races, winning the National Age-Group Championships in Wakefield in 2006. Since then she's moved up a distance and recently finished a very credible tenth at the 70.3 World Championships. In duathlon she has done even better! Being able to capitalize on her running talent has meant she has quickly risen to stardom, winning a bronze medal at the 2006 World Duathlon Championships and more recently a silver medal (behind Catriona Morrison) at the 2007 World Long Course Duathlon Championships; not bad for an athlete that only took up the sport a couple of years ago!
