Organisers have been working hard this summer to finalise details of an exciting new event taking place in Bristol this October. On 25th Oct 2009 at Ashton Court Estate the first Bristol Off-Road duathlon will take place.

Responding to demand from local athletes as well as the desire to provide a different race experience, has resulted in this exciting event which will see athletes compete over a 5km run, 20km mountain bike, and a final 5km run.

All off road on completely closed circuits, this race shares much of the same course as the ultra successful Bristol Bike Fest, with some interesting twists of it's own!

Various sponsors are on board, with Under Armour supplying the prizes for the first three overall in the male and female category, as well as prizes for first male and female over 40, and over 60.

The organisers of this event, while maybe a new name to you, have been organising events of one kind or another for many years, including the hugely successful Harptree Havoc 10km cross country race held nearby. They also use the Estate for organised training sessions every week so know every nook and cranny of the grounds, ensuring the race course uses all the best bits!

With technical singletrack, flowing downhills, tough climbs and various interesting terrains along the way, including the world famous Timberland Trail, there is something for all abilities.
