The Big Adventure Store Chilly Duathlon

Over 500 competitors braved the wet and windy conditions to take on the 2mile/10mile/2mile course at Castle Combe motor racing circuit near Chippenham for final round of The Big Adventure Store Chilly duathlon series for 2009 which included the BUCS (Student Champs).

The conditions made the going tougher than usual but The Big Adventure Store team were more than up to the task.

David Roper took the win from the 166 strong field in the 10K run in a time of 34:06.2 in the morning and then paired up with Gavin Lancaster to take 1st place in the duathlon relay category landing them 11th overall on the day.

Lee Piercy stormed through the wind and rain to take the Male Senior win as well as the Male fastest bike lap and overall on the day.

Emma Dews continued her domination of the women's field by taking the female win and the women's fastest bike lap.

Alex Fisher continued his good season with a 4th place finish in Male senior placing him 24th overall.

Special mention to Chris Pegler taking part in his first race for 3years clearly back on form with a 24:53 bike time on his way to 3rd relay team with Ben Rowlands.

With three category wins and a 4th place TBAS also walked away with the team prize.
