Eimear Mullan who won last weekend's Big Cow Duathlon, once again showed she is on top form, delivering a superb performance of 1:59.34. Eimear was almost two minutes ahead of runner-up Lucy Gossage who finished in 2:01.20, with Danielle Stewart finishing third in 2:04.17. In the men's race, Julian Lings crossed the line first in a time of 1:50.02, finishing safely over a minute ahead of runner-up Hugh Mackenzie, who completed the course in 1:51.39. Both these duathletes plan to represent the GE Great Britain Age Group Team at the 2011 Limerick ETU Duathlon European Championships in April. Ian Cardy finished third in a time of 1:52.55. Joan Lennon, the GE Great Britain Team Manager for the 2011 Limerick ETU Duathlon European Championships was impressed by the calibre of duathletes racing at the Clumber Classic commenting: “The Clumber Classic was a well organised event by One Step Beyond and provided a superb venue for some fast and furious racing around an incredibly scenic course. “As a British Championship, the event attracted a top quality field across the age groups and with many of the top age group champions also intending to race in Limerick, I am delighted that we will have a very talented GE Great Britain Age Group Team racing in Ireland.” The event was the second of three qualifiers for the 2011 Limerick ETU Duathlon European Championships, which are scheduled to take place on 17 April 2011. The final opportunity to race in Limerick takes place at Dambuster Duathlon on 19 March. The Clumber Park Classic was also the first of four qualifiers for the 2011 Gijon ITU Duathlon World Championships, which are scheduled to take place on 24 September. The remaining GE Great Britain Age Group Team qualifiers for this event are Dambuster Duathlon on 19 March, Oulton Park on 3 April and Cambridge Duathlon on 17 April. The Clumber Classic Duathlon was organised by One Step Beyond, with more information available on www.onestepbeyond.org.uk. Results are available on www.tri247.com ![]() 0 comments | Post a comment |
