Manx Tri Club Sprint Duathlon
Held on: Thu 24th April 2008
Supported By Trek

The Mooragh Park in Ramsey provided a spectacular setting and a perfect venue for the 2008 Duathlon. The competitors and spectators alike, were able to enjoy the stunning scenery in the north of the Island in warm, sunny conditions, albeit with a moderate southwesterly breeze.

The field of 35 competitors with an age range of 15 to 60 years ensured that there was some very good racing and close finishes at the top. The top 3 male spots went to Gianni Epifani (Senior 59mins 45s), Gavin Quayle (Vet 1hr 18s) and Russ Collister (Vet 1hr 32s) respectively, all 3 of whom have qualified for the GB Age Groupers Duathlon Worlds in Rimini in September.

The Ladies race was won by Eve O’Hare (Senior) in a time of 1hr 7min 49s, which placed her a very respectable 15th overall. 2nd was Gill Churcher (Vet) and 3rd Alison Clague (Senior). The Junior men, all of whom were competing in Duathlon for the first time, had a great race with Jonathan Cregeen coming out winner in a time of 1hr 7min 3s (12th overall) . Warwick Sanderson was 2nd, Sam Brand 3rd and Sam Sherry 4th.
